Davine Interventionz will once again present an Adelaide premiere as part of the Adelaide Fringe 2016 with the Broadway Musical The Light in the Piazza. The show will mark the fourth musical premiere that Davine has brought to Adelaide and its most ambitious yet!

An Italian vacation, young love and a parent’s heart-rending decision are all part of the award-winning Broadway hit.

Book by Craig Lucas, music and lyrics by Adam Guettel, and based on the novel by Elizabeth Spencer.

During their travels in Florence, Margaret Johnson and her beautiful daughter, Clara, are swept up in the city’s charm. When Fabrizio, a dashing young Italian, captures Clara’s heart, Margaret is compelled to reveal her daughter’s secret. Struggling with her concern about Clara’s future, she must decide whether or not to give the young lovers her blessing.

Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Original Score, The Light in the Piazza whisks audiences away to 1950s Italy to experience a soaring tale of passion, forgiveness, and love. Hailed as “astonishing,” “intensely romantic,” and “breathtaking”, it has redefined the modern American musical.

Embracing the classic musical style while showcasing Lucas’s tender story it asks; doesn’t everyone deserve a chance at love?
The all South Australian production team will be comprised of:

Producer/Designer: David Gauci
Director: Hayley Horton
